SURVEYS AND FOCUS GROUPS

SURVEYS

Our experience is in providing services of process development, facilitation, and quality assurance, in specialized areas of surveys and focus groups. Customizable survey development, aggregation of results, and survey reporting measurements have been a key area of expertise for Oak Hill Technology, Inc. (OHT). Surveys are based on objective measures defined by the client and developed in accordance with content guidelines. OHT utilizes content experts from a diversity of demographics that are available for development of surveys in varying areas of expertise.  Our experience involves statewide survey projects for data collection as well as face-to-face meetings with stakeholders in Texas education and healthcare professionals.

As an example of our experience, OHT developed a survey methodology approved by the TEA to execute a survey of school districts in the state of Texas. Results constituted a statistically valid sample of schools based on enrollment, ethnicity, demographics, and economic status. Based on the survey results the Michael and Susan Dell foundation provided the TEA with a 10-million-dollar commitment to create the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) to better prepare all students for college and beyond.

FOCUS GROUPS

Since 1997, Oak Hill Technology, Inc. (OHT) has supported Texas state agencies with organizing and facilitating focus groups designed to solicit the input of a variety of constituents.  The focus group sessions are planned with demographic considerations including, but not limited to, ethnicity, gender, geography, and age for the focus group participation.  Focus groups are conducted using quality assurance measurements to maintain confidentiality and accuracy of data collected during sessions. Key objectives are developed along with client input to ensure that outcomes can be determined based on core client needs.

As an example, in support of HHSC and DXC, OHT conducts client focus groups to gather information from Medicaid clients about the program website as well as additional features that would improve their ability to manage their health information online. Focus groups led by OHT not only gather important client data but also educate those clients that are unfamiliar with the website and its available services.

The purpose of the In-person Medicaid Client survey is to assist the HHSC in collecting data to improve services to Medicaid clients. In addition to gathering client input on the available features of the website, clients were asked to provide suggestions on how HHSC can make accessing available health information on the portal easier.
